Man az nahaayat-e shab harf mizanam

Man az nahaayat-e taariki

Va az nahaayet-e shab harf mizanam

 

Agar be khane-ye man aamadi baraaye man ay mehrabaan cheragh biyar

Va yek dariche ke az aan

Be ezdeham-e kuche-ye khoshbakht benegaram

I speak out of the deep of night

Out of the depth of darkness

And out of the deep of night

 

If you come to my house, O kind one

Bring me a lamp and a window

So I may view the crowd

     in the alley of happiness
