1998-2004 Studied Arabo-Andaluse Music of North Africa with Omar Ait-Vimoun at the Pacific Conservatory of North African Music, San Francisco, CA 2000-2007 Studied Turkish oud with Necati Celik and Ali Sinan Erdemsel, California and Istanbul 2001-2003 Studied Instrumental Music (Sarod) at the Ali Akbar School of North Indian Classical Music, San Rafael, CA 2002-2007 Studied Persian Tar with Mohammed Nejad, and Ashkan Qafari, San Francisco, CA
2006 - Traveled to Greece to study with the Afghan Rebab player, Rahim Khoshnawaz of Herat as part of Ross Daly's Labyrinth Music Seminars Series.
2007 - Moved to Istanbul, Turkey to play music and study the bağlama saz with Berkant Kaya.
In addition to having a deep appreciation of middle-eastern music, I spend my free-time studying Farsi and Turkish and enjoy reading and translating stories and songs.
