About me

The Hero and the Dragon (Yal o Ezhdeha)
Ahmad Shamlu / Angel Karalichev

Farsi to English Translation by Larry Klein

English to Turkish Translation by Karamurat

This is a story about an old, out-of-control dragon that is causing havoc and the wise old hero that ultimately...well, I wouldn't want to give away the ending.

The story presented here was written in Farsi by the late Iranian poet Ahmad Shamlu (1925-2002) from a Bulgarian children's story by Angel Karalichev (1913-1973). I came across it on a "Persian Stories" CD for young adults that I bought on a whim  in Los Angeles. I typed the story in Farsi while listening to it and translated it to English for your reading pleasure.

I had the English translation translated into Turkish in the summer of 2008.
